Majolica Plate Centerpiece Hand Painted Wall Dish Bowl Blue Aquamarine Italy

About the Item

Large plate Made and hand painted in Italy according to the original Renaissance painting technique. The plate is decorated in polychrome painted majolica, according to a rich grotesque motif inspired by the tradition of the fifteenth century. In the wide brim there are figures of hybrid animals similar to dolphins and masks with the faces of bearded men. A winged mythological figure stands out in the center of the plate, holding a shield finely decorated with geometric motifs and characterized by the body of a lion and the bust of a woman. Our majolica plate can be used as a centerpiece or as a decorative wall plate. The accuracy of the details adds a further qualitative element to the piece, made unique by the presence of hand-painted decorations also on the back, together with the certification mark, which bring back the ancient and almost lost splendor of handcrafted objects. DIMENSIONS: Diameter 60cm (23.62 in.) COLORS: copper green, Deruta blue, maroon/reddish brown, orange, golden yellow. Limited Edition of 30 pieces Visit our storefront to discover the whole deBlona collection. The beauty of a deBlona majolica is determined by the ancient process, unchanged over time and handmade, which we observe to the letter in the creation of our artworks: painting ceramics is a very complex, fascinating and insidious art, but it is precisely the human and imperfect sign that makes every piece so characteristic and totally unique. deBlona's essence is represented by the interpretation of the color and by an unrepeatable taste, with which we want to give new chromatic emotions.
