Important 17th Century Delft Chinoiserie Three Piece Garniture

About the Item

An important 17th century Delft chinoiserie three-piece garniture The Netherlands, Delft. Last quarter of the 17th century An important and rare Delft garniture of three pieces. The shape and decoration are inspired on the Chinese Transitional porcelain. The Delft potters produced high-quality faience ceramics because of the high demand for these vases. Decorated with as main scene a Mongol archer on horseback and several scenes with Chinese figures all around. This type of garniture is very rare to find, especially belonging together originally. All pieces including the lid are marked with a 2. Most of the time only the two side vases of the middle one are left. Side vases: 19 x 19 x 40cm Middlevase: 25 x 25 x 41cm For a set like this of about 350 years old, it is of exceptionally good condition, There is only a small chip to the lid and a small restored chip to the vase on the right side.
