About the Item

Complete set of plates from the Apollo series by Giuseppe Gariboldi for the Richard Ginori Company, with banded rim, airbrush decorated in blue/green saving the ivory-colored, marked hem band. The whole service Apollo is characterized by the elegant ivory band motif saved on the solid-color bottom, Both in form and decoration, this service is stylistically consistent with the art ceramics designed by Giovanni Gariboldi, principal designer and, since 1946, director of the Richard-Ginori Art Service. However, we have no documentation to attest to its attribution with certainty. Giovanni Gariboldi, a leading figure in Italian design, was art director of Richard Ginori, a renowned ceramics company.
