Hand Painted Tarot Inspired Ceramic Plate: The Moon

$239.30

About

Hand painted onto luxury Italian Ceramic by artist Josephine Dessine. This unique blue and white plate is hand painted and kiln fired to create a luxurious decorative or serving piece to adorn any dining experience. Inspired by the Delftware of Holland, the Faience of France and the Italian Maiolica the delicate illustrations depict different interpretations of Tarot cards. The Ceramic is sourced from the Medieval Town of Este, in the Paduan Province of Northern Italy. Created from Italian white clay, the artisans of Este have been creating these pieces since '700. Blending ancient savoir-faire with her Idiosyncratic illustrative style, Josephine Dessine brings this Northern Italian Heritage to the modern day. Painted using Kingfisher Blue Onglaze and carefully kiln fired, each piece is food safe although a gentle hand wash is encouraged. These pieces also work beautifully as a wall decoration.
