Andrew Hughes Porto Table Lamp
About the Item
Sculptural table lamp by glass artist Andrew Hughes, part of Hughes' Porto collection for FERRER. The curvilinear surfaces of the base are hand etched and the angular plane on the face is hand polished, by Hughes.
The Porto collection is an exercise in optics whereby color and reflective light are diffused by a surface etching. A single panel, or "porto" is carved and brought to an optical polish on the side allowing the viewer to look inside not only the vessel but inside the glass itself. The interior and bottom curvature provide a "lens" effect that distorts reflections from different viewing angles.
The Porto lamp is wired with a single Edison socket that receives standard US bulbs. It is possible for the piece to be wired to European and other standards, upon request.
A rotary dimmer is included on the socket for easy dimming capability.
A harp and finial are included for attachment of shade and diffuser. Shade nor diffuser are included with our lamps. Shade shown measures:

All the hardware is finished in our dark bronze patina. The cord is a braided fabric cord in chocolate brown. Standard cord length is 7'.
