Cappellin Murano Round Orange Color Glass Plate, 1920
About the Item
With its unique features and meticulous attention to detail, this piece is a testament to Cappellin Murano's innovative vision and artistic sensibility.
A highly sought-after plate from the 1920s with an orange background, handcrafted in the Murano furnaces. The plate is made of glass paste with a transparent orange background; it is large in size and fills the center of the table very well, it is very fine and very light for its size. These shades are highly sought-after, and are very beautiful and characteristic of that period of time. Very simple shapes in the rhythm and harmony of these lines, created to highlight lightness and clear transparency in the most subtle, almost evanescent hues, the two extraordinary qualities of Murano blown glass, constitute the essential traits of the new school, whose initiators were Venini & Cappelin, in collaboration with an exquisite Murano artist, Vittorio Zecchin".
