Art Deco Andre Delatte Hand Blown Glass Bowl Signed

About the Item

This lovely, small and obscure hand blown Art Deco glass bowl by French artist, Andre Delatte has vivid colors of yellow, sky blue and red to red brown. The artistry of two of the artist's favourite subjects: foliage and hazelnuts is repeated in his oeuvre of work. The applied and raised Art Deco motif of this bowl definitely has foliage there and is even a bit cockeyed, which makes it even more charming. Little is known of this French man's work, as there are no known catalogs or reference material to date. Most of his work was done in or near Nancy, France. It is signed near the bottom of the bowl, A Delatte Nancy. It is fair to say that finding Delatte's work is more obscure and even a bit rare. He was born in 1887 and died in 1953. He wore many hats as an artist. This is a delightful and beautiful small work of art in hand blown glass form.
