Silver Cruet Stand, García Calvo, Valladolid, Spain, circa 1900, with Hallmarks

About the Item

Cruet Convoy. Contrast by García Calvo, Valladolid, 1900. With contrast marks. Glass and silver. Silver convoy formed by a base on large pearls and with a central axis topped by a ring and another ball. The simplicity of lines brings the work closer to the most characteristic aesthetic approaches of the 20th century, and it continues and stands out thanks to the two glass bottles, which have supports for the stoppers. The contrast marks on the base place the completion of the work in Valladolid; the one in the center would be that of the silversmith and the one on the left that of García Calvo, who worked as a contrast in the city towards the beginning of the 20th century. Weight: 380 grams. · Size: 18 x 7 x 32 cms.
