Large Impressive Antique Water Pitcher

About the Item

An exceptional, large antique Victorian walled pitcher for ice water has a bold circular rounded body. The jug makes a wonderful decorative piece. The upper rim is ornamented with an impressive egg and dart decorated border, incorporating a plain applied molded segment to the spout, also rimmed with the same egg and dart design. This fine example of antique jug is fitted with a cast opposing scrolling handle, in addition to the lower terminal. A decorative pointed finial tops the lid giving it greater presence and balance. The jug in the shape of a tankard was once silver-plated but is now highly tarnished but adding to it, greater overall character and interest. Stamped at the bottom, patented by JAs. STIMPSON 1854 extended for seven years. OFFERING FREE SHIPPING TO CONTINENTAL US. PLEASE JUST ASK FOR A SHIPPING QUOTE. Search term: Georgian style.
