Antique Japanese Pitcher 'Yakan' with Copper 1920s for Tea Ceremony

About the Item

This is an antique pitcher for tea ceremony made in Japan around 1920s (Taisho era). And made with Copper. This kind of pitchers are called 'Mizusashi' in Japanese. A mizusashi is a tool used to hold water needed for the tea ceremony. It is used to adjust the temperature of the tea and to rinse the tea bowl and Chasen (bamboo whisk for making Japanese tea). This was used to use as a pitcher but we can also use as a flower vase or decoration. Dimensions : depth 13.5cm× width 19cm× height 22.5cm (including handles 13cm).
