Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1870 by George Unite this ornate Victorian antique sterling silver christening mug is of a cylindrical form, decorated with extensive hand-engraving in the Gothic Revival taste. The body is divided into alternating panels of floral bouquets and geometric diapering, featuring a central vacant cartouche, and is completed with a beaded rim and base. It measures 3.75"(9.5cm) tall by 3.75"(9.5cm) from handle to side and 3"(7.5cm) deep, and weighs 6.1 troy ounces.
