Loftus, Oxford Street, London, England. circa 1870 Most impressive large size, hand-crafted in traditional haystack form with a deep lip and pour spout, small neck, broad base, and riveted reinforced handle. The bulbous vessel body inscribed "Two Gallon", stamped with official crown over MW mark to rim interior, signed WR Loftus London. Retaining original antique character and charm throughout, including highly desirable verdigris patina, scattered scuffs, dings, and antique character marks that add to the elegant rustic warmth, rich history, and overall charm.
