19th Century Staffordshire Aesthetic Transferware Platters ‘Honfleur’ Set of Two

About

A nesting pair of Aesthetic Movement platters, Powell, Bishop & Stonier, Hanley, Staffordshire, England, showing the English Registry number 7999 indicating the year 1884. The ‘Honfleur’ pattern is transfer printed in brown on a cream earthenware body and shows a border of Greek key bands along a floral band with vases. The central image contains more urns or vases with flowers resting on a zigzag fence or pedestal along with a lion statue. Large platter: 15.75?L x 11.5?W x 1.5?H Medium platter: 12.25?L x 9?W x 1?H Excellent antique conditions, light crazing consistent with age, stilt marks – one mark with light toning.
