A beautifully preserved 19th-century blue and white transferware platter in the iconic Asiatic Pheasants pattern, produced by Wedgwood & Co — successors to the well-regarded Staffordshire pottery Podmore, Walker & Co. The Asiatic Pheasants pattern was one of the most beloved blue-printed designs of the Victorian era, and this generous oval platter is a fine example. The intricate floral border, scalloped edge, and hand-printed scene of exotic birds in a garden landscape speak to the craftsmanship and visual confidence of Staffordshire pottery at its peak. At 15.5 x 13 inches, this is a substantial serving platter — striking enough to display, characterful enough to use.
