About the Item
Superb fruit bowl, model "Pompadour", exceptional Italian handicraft work, produced by the Vetrerie di Empoli signed "Griffe Montenapoleone Milano".
This beautiful piece is made of glass, mouth-blown, entirely hand-ground, the frieze of acanthus leaves engraved on the outer rim, the speckling and the finishing of the decoration are also hand-made with 24-carat gold.

At the beginning of the 1900s, the Vetrerie di Empoli started to produce artistic glassware for the table, in parallel with the traditional production of flasks and lady's glasses, this activity quickly became a great commercial success and an unexpected artistic and cultural impact.
In 1935, Vetrerie di Empoli, well ahead of its time, opened single-brand shops in Rome, Turin and Milan, and Empoli green glass entered most Italian homes.
In step with the times, traditional glass transformed from rustic to increasingly elegant, multiplying its presence in Milan's shop windows, first in Via Pietro Verri and then in the central Montenapoleone.
Today, Vetrerie di Empoli is visited daily by the most sophisticated international clientele, who demand a different product, qualitatively high but which surprises and excites.
This is guaranteed by the skills of the same family, which for over a hundred years has been committed to creating collections that are always innovative and original, some of which are even covered by international patents.
