From the pottery works of Joseph Heath & Co. Tunstall, Staffordshire, England, an earthenware, underglaze tissue printed platter, in the ‘Persian’ pattern, circa 1828 – 1841. 19th Century A romantic Architectural theme with a floral and scroll border, the central image shows a three room temple or gazebo with a Gothic influence. Two figures are dressed in Persian attire. A band of scrolls and flowers float in the foreground. Additional buildings and trees make up the background. Marked on the verso with a transfer of the pattern name in an architectural cartouche with the initials J.H.& Co. 18.5 in. L x 15.5 in. W x 1.50 in. H Excellent antique condition, showing the expected very light wear.
