Monumental Platter, Circa 1940s, from Biot, France

About the Item

Highly unusual and graphically striking, this monumental charger or platter was created in Biot at a time when the French village vied with Vallauris in producing the best ceramic pieces of the era. The geometric patterns in shades of acid green, sage and purplish blue are stunning. This piece retains its heavy iron armature to facilitate hanging.
