Two Timo Sarpaneva Scandinavian Modern Large Stainless Steel Chargers Platters

About the Item

Hard to find set of two stainless steel platters designed by Timo Sarpaneva and made in Finland by OPA Ltd. Designed in 1970, the large platter is model TS-300-62 (62 cm), and the smaller platter is TS-300-44 (44 cm). The larger platter is approximately 24 1/4 inches diameter, the smaller one 17 3/8. They are made of 18-8 stainless steel and have a striking look with polished centers and wide matte rims. More info: Sarpanevas OPA-series dishes in stainless steel designed in 1970 for Sarpanevas exhibition "Glass and Steel" at the Pinx Art Gallery June 15th, 1970. This series has been acquired by the following museums: Philadelphia Museum of Art, Philadelphia, United States; Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustri- museum, Trondheim, Norway; Design Museum, Helsinki, Finland.

    Wear consistent with age and use. Very good vintage condition. There are light scratches to both (see pictures). Depending on the light, the scratches may be more pronounced than in the photos, but overall appearance is very good.
