About the Item

Yellow Aesthetic Minton Porcelain Plate in the style of Japonism creations made by Christopher Dresser. Round plate adorned with an oriental fan representing a lovely and colorful bird. Lovely decorations, with plants and oriental items. Stamped beneath with all Minton hallmarks. Very refined word, other pieces are existing with different birds and background colors (see the last picture), please contact us if you're interested in several pieces. Minton was one of the most important English manufactories of Majolica and porcelain, created in 1793 by Thomas Minton in Staffordshire. Minton exhibited pieces at the Great Exhibition of 1851, received a gold medal in 1855 for the Exposition Universelle in Paris, and had the most prestigious clients like Queen Victoria.

    Wonderful aesthetic movement tea cup in hand-painted and hand-gilt porcelain by the English manufactory Minton. Blue background with stylized red flowers imitating the cloisonné technique, very common in the Japonisme ware.
