About the Item
Justine porcelain pieces are inspired by the ancient Byzantine jewelry. Delicate porcelain transforms cups into timeless design objects by translating pearl and stone details of jewelry into flowing forms.
With their pastel colors and delicate structures, the Justine series is ideal for making daily rituals special. Justine coffee, tea glasses and bowls are produced in Ayvalik with the original technique of Santimetre Porcelain for Avlu.

The product is suitable for use in the dishwasher. However, we recommend using liquid dishwashing liquid to make gold decors last longer. For stains such as tea and coffee, we recommend using a non-abrasive, suitable detergent and soft cloth/sponge.

AVLU
AVLU -meaning courtyard in Turkish- is a furniture and home decor brand founded by DAY Studio in 2015. Inspired by the material and object culture of Istanbul and Turkey, AVLU exclusively works with local craftsmen and translates their vernacular techniques and knowledge into contemporary, sophisticated and affordable design objects. AVLU collection includes purposeful everyday objects from service platters to containers and thoughtfully produced furniture. Aimed to create a unique Turkish design brand, first collections ‘Istanbul’ and ‘Playful Minimalism’ included containers based on the iconic buildings of Istanbul to marble marquetry of Hagia Sophia-inspired plates and platters inspired by street carts of the Istanbul esnafs to service set and candleholders informed by the domes of Grand Bazaar, starting off an on going dialogue between craftsmen and DAY Studio designers -Yeşim Eröktem and Doğanberk Demir- with a reflection on their culture that will grow collaborating with other designers. ‘AVLU name derived from the courtyards of artisans in Grand Bazaar where our first product development took place. We believe in local manufacturing networks and a sustainable business model from design and production to sales to create equally sustainable products. We create a visual language around this idea and create everyday objects for the home.’
