Meissen porcelain group from the time of origin: Four children in festive, rural rococo clothing on a three-part rocaille base: on the central raised pedestal a girl with a basket of flowers, leaning towards the boy to his right on a lower step, also with a basket of flowers under his arm, to the left of the girl another boy with a hat and baskets filled with grapes, one in the left hand, the second shouldered, behind the three children another girl with a basket of grapes and a sickle in her hands. Detailed and loving design of the figures, elaborate decoration of the robes. Manufactory: Meissen Germany Dating: 1763 - 1774 Material: white porcelain, glossy finish Technique: handmade porcelain, finest hand painting Designer: JOHANN JOACHIM KÄNDLER (1706 - 1775) was chief sculptor at the Meissen manufactory from 1742 to 1775. He is the most famous modeller Meissen manufactory ever had and created famous series such as Shepherd Figurines, Comedian's Children, Gardener Children (with Acier), Paris Town Criers (with Reinicke and Meyer), Gallant Figurines, etc. Kaendler designed this figurine group circa 1750.
