FÜRSTIN Dessert Set for Two By Furstenberg, 1950’s, Ivory And Gold Porcelain

About the Item

In Fürstenberg, porcelain has been created since 1747, which always reflects the time in which it was created: the spirit, the attitude to life and the aesthetics as well as the craftsmanship and technical possibilities. Over the course of time, renowned designers, modellers and porcelain painters have shaped the history of the manufactory founded by Duke Carl I. of Brunswick-Wolfenbuettel. In the fifties, porcelain manufacture boomed. The form FÜRSTIN with its clear lines and its forms focused on function and design resulting in high-quality tableware. We propose the opportunity to buy a dessert set for two or a set for ten listed separately (see the last picture). This is the beautiful 1950’s midcentury iconic Fürstin model by Fürstenberg German Manufacture and which is even referred to on their website. The porcelain is ivory, very shiny and extremely soft to the touch. The gold decor is of a rare quality, it’s mat finish and its rather dark colour is chic and subtle. This is a set for two people comprising two coffee cups and saucers, two cake or sandwich plates, a sugar pot and a milk jug, one oval dish and one rectangular dish. It is in very good condition throughout, no crack, no chips, just a couple of tiny fading to the gold.
