Meissen Bolognese Dog Model 2880 by Johann Joachim Kaendler Made circa 1870

About

Meissen very lovely as well as gorgeous dog's figurine: It is a Bolognese Dog, excellently painted (dark brown and bright brown as well as white shaded) and stunningly modelled: Look for example at dog's hair, please = the details are stunningly sculptured. The very special peculiarities of this model - the dog's pelts and hair sticking out - are a very hard work for the modeller, indeed: The modelling of these details is a real challenge for a porcelain modeller ! Designer: Johann Joachim Kaendler (1706-1775) / since 1731 modeller of Meissen manufactory, he is one of the best modellers and designers Meissen manufactory ever had.
