Meissen stunning as well as quite rare item: Meissen gorgeous tall centrepiece, surrounded by Two dancing gardener figurines, with reticulated (scalloped) bowl Measures / dimensions: total height: 49.5 cm (= 19.48 inches) total width: 33.0 cm (= 12.99 inches) total depth: 28.5 cm (= 11.22 inches) Manufactory: Meissen Hallmarked: Blue Meissen Sword Mark (underglazed) First quality Model number 2770 painter's number 14 Dating: made circa 1870 - 80 Material: porcelain, glossy finish, multicolored painted Technique: handmade porcelain Style: Rococo Style Designer: Ernst August Leuteritza (1818-1893) / designed circa 1860-1870. Sculptor, having been born as well as active in Meissen, since the year 1882 Professor as well as leader of Meissen Art Department as from the year 1886. Leuteritz modelled at least 230 figurines - for this reason he was the most important Meissen modeller of third and fourth quarter of the 19th century. (Bergmann 2010, page 665) Detailed description: Subject: Meissen centrepiece / surrounded by two dancing gardeners -- This centrepiece is of Superb Appearance: There is a round reticulated bowl (= SCALLOP) with sculptured flowers and leaves - attached to outer wall - existing / the bowl is partially golden painted. Its inner area is decorated with painted multicolored flower bouquets scattered on white porcelain. The bowl is attached to excellently modelled stalk which is shaped as Palm tree. Additionally, the palm tree's trunk is covered with sculptured rambling flower's blossoms and leaves. The trunk is surrounded by Two dancing gardeners - A lovely couple wearing Rococo garments. - The figurines are greatly sculptured so that this centrepiece is susceptible of all around vision. Finally, the gardener woman's chest is decorated with excellent flower's garland, some fruits are gathered in her apron. - The figurines' group is attached to high Rocaille base. Condition: Very good / a few leaves' petals have been excellently restored (not visible with naked eye). There is an original split deriving from firing in oven existing at socle's reverse side (it is not visible at upper side). There aren't any damages existing.
