Meissen gorgeous group of figurines: Allegory of Air / Roman Goddess Juno with Peacock The details are stunningly scupltured = finest modelling Manufactory: Meissen Dating: made circa 1900 Hallmarked: Meissen Mark with Pommels on Hilts (around Turn of the Century) First quality model number O 199 / former's number 59 / painter's number 66 Material: multicolored porcelain, partially golden painted, glossy finish Technique: handmade porcelain Style: Rococo Design: Paul Helmig (1859-1939) The modeller had studied at the School of Applied Arts in Dresden (Germany). He was active on behalf of Meissen manufactory in the period of 1872-1925: The modeller was specialized on design of figurine groups, clock cases and vessels with figurines in Rococo style as well as - in later period - in Art Nouveau style. - The model O 199 was created in the year 1892.   First quality Specifications: Allegory of Air, incarnated by Roman Goddess Juno whose attribut is the peacock: For this reason Juno was Symbol of Air, too, in antique mythology. - Juno has taken place on a throne consisting of clouds, surrounded by the peacock as well as by three winged cherubs which are paying obeisance to her: One of cherubs presents a pearl necklet to the goddess, a second one is going to offer her a cornucopia filled with flowers / the third cherub seizing a mirror floats above the goddess, supporting itself on some clouds. - Broadly manufactured base existing which is decorated with flowers and leaves as well as with Rocaille ornaments.
