Model 100 created circa 1738. Kaendler was chief sculptor at Meissen manufactory as from 1742 until the year 1775. He is the most famous modeller Meissen manufactory ever had and created well-known series such as Shepherd Figurines, Comedian's Children, Gardener Children (with Acier), Paris Town Criers (with Reinicke and Meyer), Gallant Figurines, Asian Figurines etc. Detailed description: Subject: Meissen gallant figurines (the sale of heart boxes) Gallant Rococo Couple, accompanied by a female seller of fancy goods (fancies) as well as by a male boyish seller: The gallant man is presenting his beloved woman a heart box. -- The noble woman clad in most elegant Rococo bodice dress has taken place on a sofa / settee: The lady is going to accept the heart box having just presented to her by her Lover. Both are observed by a female seller of fancies and jewelleries who is assisted by her boyish assistant. Please look at the abundantly sculptured details (for example at the lady's elegant dress with purple red ermine mantle as well as at man's garments - long white jacket, red vest, pants and saber/sabre). The painting is of first quality, too (for example, please note the stunning flowers' pattern visible on lady's skirt).
