Martin Wiegand (1867-1961)
Martin Wiegand, sculptor and modeller, studied at Dresden Academy of Fine Arts. He lived in Munich as from the year 1888. The sculptor worked on behalf of Meissen manufactory in period 1906-09 (caused by this short period the scale of this sculptor's Meissen work isn't great / due to this reason the figurines created by Wiegand are very rare as well as much sought by knowledgeable Meissen collectors).

Pierrette figurine
It is of stunning impression / Pierrette stands on base, simultaneously she is saluting, having the appearance of some type of coquetry additionally, Pierrette seizes a carnival's mask by right raised hand / the lovely spiky hat decorated with pompons as well as the fact that Pierrette is laughing induce the impression of very special cheerfulness: The carnival's costume fits perfectly the figurine's jovial impression.
