About the Item

This is a very beautiful porcelain coffee can with hand painted scenes of Butterflies and Insects which is made by Old Paris maker, Clignancourt -Manuf De Moitte , France, dating to the late 18th century, circa 1795. The coffee can is broadly cylindrical tapering slightly to the base, with a loop handle. This is a very finely hand painted coffee can with beautifully hand painted views of different butterflies and insects, all in polychrome enamels all in many different coloured enamels. . The coffee can also has fine hand gilded detail around a top border, the outer handle and the base rim.. Overall a very distinctive, beautifully decorated coffee can.
