Pair of Empire gilt chinoiserie vases. Pair hand-painted and gilt French vases of the Empire period with mask handles and gilt surrounds centering on richly colored oriental scenes with figures and pagodas in landscapes in yellows, greens and magentas. From the Bourbon era, purchased in Naples, France, early 19th century. Dimensions: 2.75" square base; handle to handle 5.25"; 9.5" height 3.75" diameter top.
