Porcelain Compotes Loch Creran and Clark Castle Scotland blue gilt painted

About the Item

Fantastic Pair of cobalt gilt edge compotes with scenes of Scotland. Entire sets of dishes with Scottish landmarks were produced, especially for the American Market in the 1870's, but they are not altogether easy to find, particularly if your ancestry is relevant to the sites! Ad, of course, similar work was done earlier, too, so if you are a research fanatic, you might eventually figure out who made them, because there are bits and pieces of illegible marks. Who doesn't love a bit of mystery? Every person's home is their castle, but that can be especially true for you!
