Qing Dynasty Chinese Porcelain Ginger Jar with Lid and Noble Characters

About

We kindly suggest you read the whole description, because with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. Ancient and particular Chinese round porcelain ginger vase with lid; the shape and size are very well proportioned; the lid is painted green with a stylized white star while the knob was painted with pure gold, but the gilding is now consumed by time; on the white porcelain body has been hand painted with rare skill a particular scene of life; In a graceful landscape of trees and flowers, a smiling dignitary, in regal dress, next to a horse dressed as a feast, is followed by a servant who waves with energy a large banner the flag has a monogram in the center (perhaps the name of the dignitary or his crest), on the right there is a woman, also in royal dress, followed by two servants who protect her from the sun with large fans and a maid on the side; the whole small group seems to respect the arrival of the noble personage with a respectful bow; we are not able to explain this delightful scene, but the whole painting is pleasant, detailed and well made with care; the combination of the shape and the painting are typical of the end of 1800. The small black spots that can be noticed both inside and outside, the strong rust formation (see photo) on the edge of the bottom due to the iron present in the clay (for this it takes years for it to occur), and the patina formed by the ginger fumes, in addition to the typicality of the shape and design, allow us to confirm that the vase was produced in China between 1870 and 1880 during the Qing dynasty. Measures diameter cm.26, height cm.22. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.
