Very Fine Set of 6 Hand Painted Lenox Porcelain Cabinet Plates for Tiffany & Co.
About the Item
An exquisite set of six hand painted Lenox porcelain cabinet plates by artist Eugene DeLan (working 1896-1915), previously retailed by Tiffany & Co. Each plate showing a richly embossed gilt border surrounding a central field decorated with a hand-painted game fish in a naturalistic aquatic vignette, all signed E.A. DeLan. The species of each fish is referenced on the reverse of each plate in gilt, together with maker’s marks for Lenox Porcelain Company and retailer marks for Tiffany & Co.
Each species of fish is exquisitely hand painted illustrated is titled sequentially. Tarpon, Brook Trout, Pickerel, Shad, Striped Bass, White Perch.
