About the Item

Rare Museum-Quality Jug / Chocolate Jug with Hand-painted "Nordic" Pattern – over 100 years old! This exceptional Norwegian heritage antique jug dates from the early 1900s. It features a hand-painted overglazed floral design on an Art Nouveau-style body, accented in classic farmhouse red and green. The piece is inscribed with the classic Norwegian phrase: "Øl i Bollen gir Merg i Bein, gir Rus i Skallen, gjør Magen rein." Provenance & Extreme Rarity: The factory stamp on this pokal was in use only from 1906 to 1914. The same model is found in several museum collections in Norway. This particular jug is distinguished by its extreme rarity, as it bears three stamps: --Green "PORSGRUND PP NORGE" --Black "Made in Norway" --Black "OLD NORWAY" Dimensions: Height: 26.5 cm / 10.43 inches. Most examples are unmarked or have only a single stamp, making this triple-stamped piece exceptionally rare.
