A fine Danish handmade art pottery dish by the renowned artistic director, Marianne Starck (1937-2001) for Michael Andersen & Son on the island of Bornholm. The rounded shallow bowl shaped dish is decorated centrally with a prancing cockerel decorated in fine beige and green glazes with outline crazing in black and set within a red outline against a blue background. With lighter grey brown glazes to the back. With pottery marks to the base. Danish, Marianne Starck (1937-2001) for Michael Andersen & Son Marianne Starck (1937-2001) qualified as a graphic designer in Hamburg, Germany and worked as artistic director at Michael Andersen & Son from 1955 until the company's closure in 1993.
