19th Century Victorian Solid Silver 4 Piece Tea & Coffee Service, Glasgow, C1859
About the Item
19th Century Victorian silver four piece tea & coffee service, comprising of a coffee pot, tea pot, sugar bowl and cream jug, each shaped body resting on a spreading domed base, the body chased and embossed with intertwining scrolls, roses and exotic fruits, extremely decorative and well made design. The c-shaped scroll handles leaf caped, the hinged covers set with lovely cast finials, inside parcel gilt, sides engraved with a Cameron family crest 'Pro rege et patria' - For king and fatherland.
Hallmarked English silver (925 Standard), Glasgow, year 1859 (O), Maker J.MUIRHEAD & SONS.
