Set of 23 Dinner/Platter/Salad Plates, Service for 8 Signed Jurg Lanrein

About the Item

This sophisticated modernist set of 23 dinner and salad plates, as well as serving platters were realized by the esteemed designer Jurg Lanrein in Switzerland during the latter half of the 20th century. They offer an organic marbled texture- resembling the treatment used on the inside covers of antiquarian books- in sumptuous grisaille hues. The dinner plates feature predominantly black backgrounds with organic gray and white abstract detailing, while the salad plates offer the inverse. The platters feature variations of these gray scales creating a dynamic (and visually arresting) array of serving pieces that are as much objet d'art as they are functional objects. With their austere silhouettes, clean modernist lines, and beautiful craftsmanship, this set would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. They are signed Jurg Lanrein and are in excellent vintage condition.
