    This is an exceptional pair of antique English silver plated wine coolers by the renowned silversmith Hawksworth, Eyre & Co of Sheffield, circa 1870 in date. The wine coolers stand on circular pedestal bases with decorative Faustian masque handles and bodies which are masterfully embellished with grape vine decoration. Each cooler is fitted with a removable lid and liner and the lids are engraved with crests of a bull. Add some classic elegance to your home with this lovely decorative pair of coolers. Condition: In excellent condition. As antique items, the coolers show minor signs of use commensurate with age, these minor condition issues are mentioned for accuracy and, as seen in the accompanying photographs, they display beautifully. Dimensions in cm: Height 27 x Width 26 x Depth 19 Dimensions in inches: Height 11 inches x Width 10 inches x Depth 7 inches Hawksworth, Eyre & Co was founded in 1833 by Charles Hawksworth and John Eyre as successors of Blagden, Hodgson & Co. The first mark was registred in 1862. They were manufacturers and silversmiths of silver and silver plated objects. In the 19th Century they opened branches in London, Buenos Aires, Montreal and New York, an amazing accomplishment at that time.
