Huge Antique Silver Plated Anglo-Indian Styled Figural Palm Tree Centerpiece Set
About the Item
This very large and substantial centerpiece or serving set is hallmarked by an unknown maker, but originated from Scotland and dates to approximately 1890 and done in an Anglo-Indian style. This very elaborate and ornately cast set is done in silver plate with a mirrored figural island base. The large central palm trees are very detailed in their casting, showing individual pierced leaves, realistic trunks and branches which have three hanging lined baskets for either serving, or potpourri. The elaborate central palm trees, are accented by two smaller figural islands also with palm trees, which can be configured as desired. The piece is clearly hallmarked with the year and country of origin on a diamond shaped cartouche on the base. Please note this set is substantial and the central palm treed island stands two feet in height on the base, and the smaller trees stand approximately one foot in height.
