A fine antique sterling silver Aesthetic Movement tea service, by Walter & John Barnard, London 1878. This very fine antique sterling silver set comprises three pieces, tea or coffee pot, sugar bowl and cream jug. The set is decorated in the Aesthetic Movement taste, engraved with a Greek key pattern to the rims, the tea pot with a pierced acorn shaped finial to the lid and ivory insulators to the handle. All three pieces having a gold wash to the interior, each piece is hallmarked to the base with the mark for Walter & John Barnard, London and the date letter for 1878. Condition is excellent, total silver weight is 982 grams.
