Oversized Edwardian Threaded Glass and Sterling Silver Match Striker

About the Item

A magnificent oversized English match striker wither a sterling silver mount and well fully hallmarked for London, 1914 (slightly rubbed). It’s an impressive and rarely found size measuring approximately 5" in diameter x 4 1/2" tall. I have filled it with matches just shy of 3 3/4" long (these cannot be shipped with the piece). The silver is fully hallmarked but rubbed as most of these are, struck at the Birmingham assay office, I believe the letter is g for 1906, made by the well renowned silversmith, John Grinsell & Co. Excellent condition with minor rough spots commensurate with age. A magnificent specimen! Item: 42037.
