The tapering column is encircled with a rounded knop ornamented with a stylized leaf decoration, in addition to a lobed knop to the lower portion. The antique Spanish candlesticks have circular swept bases encompassed with further leaf ornamentation matching the design to that of the knopped column. The rim of each candlestick is embellished with the contemporary engraved initials 'AV' in addition to the hallmarks: Maker's mark: Uralde Assay master mark: Loizaga (Manuel Loizaga of Bilbao) Additional mark: City mark Each candlestick does not have a weighted base.
