An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver cigarette box, an addition to the ornamental silverware collection. This exceptional antique George V sterling silver cigarette box has a plain rectangular form onto four bracket style feet. The body of this impressive cigarette box is plain and unembellished. The box is fitted with two hallmarked hinged covers each embellished with an engine turned panel in addition to a paralleling, broad engine turned decorated border. The central plateau is surmounted with an impressive plain shaped handle. The body of this exceptional box is fitted with a cedar wood lining and the surface interior of each solid silver cover retains the original gilded interior. The silver box is supported by four impressive bracket style feet. This antique cigarette box has a weighted base and retains the original leatherette covering to the underside. By Virtue of its size this versatile antique cigarette box could be used for a multitude of functions. Note: The majority of such boxes have a wood lining to the cover, it is a sign of quality when boxes have an unlined, solid silver covers. Condition This antique sterling silver cigarette box is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in excellent condition, in keeping with age. The piece has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. There are some minor surface dings to the side panels of the body. The engine turned decoration is all very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the box and part hallmarks to the interior of each cover are all very clear, the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique William IV English sterling silver table snuff box; an addition to our collectable silverware collection. This exceptional antique William IV sterling silver snuff box has a rectangular, rounded form. The body of the box is embellished with impressive chased floral motifs accented with scrolling stem and foliate ornamentation, all on a matte background. The decoration to the body incorporates a chased single leaf design to each corner, emanating from the rounded lower portion. The upper rim of the body and swept sides of the cover are encompassed with a continuous band of engine turned decoration. The underside of the box features a further panel of engine turned decoration. This exceptional example of antique silverware is fitted with a hinged hallmarked cover embellished with an engine turned bordered rectangular vacant cartouche to the upper plateau. The cover is further embellished with an exceptional cast and applied domed, incurved border to the upper portion, matching the ornamentation to that of the body and continuing to an impressive floral thumbpiece to the anterior edge. An exceptional, fine and impressive, antique Victorian English sterling silver combination scent bottle / pill box / vinaigrette; an addition to our diverse collectable silverware collection. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver combination vinaigrette / pill box / scent bottle has an oval barrel shaped form. The body of the vessel is embellished with applied plain broad girdles replicating the details of the bilge and quarter hoops, which provide anchor points for the original link chain. The piece retains the original hallmarked screw fit cover to the scent bottle, conjoined to one of the aforementioned anchor points with a link chain. One end of the vessel is fitted with a hallmarked hinged cover, which when opened reveals the vinaigrette with the original hinged grille and gilt interior. The gilded grille is ornamented with a bright cut engraved and pierced decorated bordered scroll and leaf design.
