An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver pepper modelled in the form of a jester; an addition to our novelty silverware collection This exceptional and rare antique George V cast sterling silver pepperette has been realistically modelled in the form of a jester on a textured mound. This impressive antique novelty pepper has been embellished with details reproducing the fine definition of the jester's anatomical features and attire. The jester figure is further ornamented with a prop stick, accented with a miniature imitation of the character's own face to the terminal*. This sterling silver piece retains the original hallmarked push fit cover/head which features pierced 'pepper' holes. This exceptional antique silver pepper shaker is the finest of its type you could hope to acquire. * This staff/septre style accessory is also known as a 'ninny stick', 'fool's wand' or 'marotte'. Condition This antique novelty pepper is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The cast decoration is all very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the base and part hallmarks to the cover/head are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
