Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Coffee Pot (1851)

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver coffee pot; an addition to our silver teaware collection. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver coffee pot has a baluster shaped form onto a circular collet foot. The body of this antique silver coffee pot is plain and embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest displaying a stag couchant, above a scrolling leaf bordered cartouche with the initials 'CKR'. This sterling silver coffee pot is fitted with a hallmarked hinged cover surmounted with the original, fine and impressive hallmarked sterling silver gourd and leaf decorated finial. The impressive coffee pot is fitted with a naturalistic C scroll handle in the form of a branch, incorporating an impressive organic stemmed bud decorated thumbpiece to the upper portion. The Victorian coffee pot is fitted with a plain swan necked spout. Condition This English sterling silver coffee pot is an exceptional gauge of silver for its type, exceptional quality and in excellent condition. There is some surface wear to the body in keeping with age, however the piece can be considered to be in presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the coffee pot, in addition to the part hallmarks to the interior of the cover and surface of the finial are all very clear. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of Victorian teaware.
