Elegant cutlery set made of solid silver for twelve people consisting of 173 Parts in original wooden box. Date of manufactory: circa 1915 Material: Massive silver '800', Stainless steel knive blades Form type: Crossband decoration - variation Circular 4-fold thread decoration, looped at regular intervals on one side towards the top, crossing at the ends of the cutlery handles. A timelessly classic and elegant decoration that has enjoyed great popularity since the beginning of the 20th century. Original Wooden Casette: This silver cutlery set is stored in its original solid wood case with three removable compartments, fitted with the original deer leather cover, which is in very good condition. From 1908 to 1914, staff of 50 workers, owner until 1922. AUGUST EINSPINNER (1870-1927) learned the goldsmith's trade in Vienna and settled in Graz in 1898 as a master goldsmith. He crafted various objects from silver, including tableware and vessels. Einspinner also collaborated with artists and designers. For example, he executed designs by Rudolf Hofer. His works were shown at international exhibitions, including the 'Exposition internationale des arts décoratifs et industriels modernes' in Paris in 1925. Works by August Einspinner, especially silverware, are represented in collections such as those of the MAK (Museum of Applied Arts) in Vienna and the Landesmuseum Joanneum in Graz, and regularly appear at art auctions. In addition to his work as a craftsman, Einspinner was also politically active (member of the Graz City Council, representative in the Styrian State Parliament and the Imperial Council) and was involved in various commercial and cultural organisations, including as curator of the Landesmuseum Joanneum and president of the Steiermärkischer Kunstgewerbeverein (Styrian Arts and Crafts Association).
