About the Item

The Cactus pattern was designed by sculptor Gundolph Albertus in 1930. Its modern style is representative of the Art Deco period and the emerging functionalist style of the early 1930's. The pattern style is sypmle yet defined and illustrates Albertus' sensitivity to the character of silver. Gundolph Albertus was the production director of Georg Jensen from 1926-1954 and this particular pattern is one of the most famous.
