Carrington & Co 1920s Antique Sterling Silver Table Lighter

About the Item

An exceptional, fine, and impressive, antique George V English sterling silver table lighter; an addition to our smoking related silverware collection. This exceptional antique George V sterling silver table lighter has a circular rounded form onto a circular spreading foot. The rounded surface of the body is plain and embellished to the upper plateau with the contemporary bright cut engraved crest depicting an eagle displayed perched on a plaque displaying '105'. Either side of the body is fitted with cast sterling silver scrolling handles; one handle plateau features a push fit hallmarked cylindrical channel which allows access to the wick. The centre of this antique silver table lighter is fitted with a hallmarked detachable taper holder surmounted with a cast sterling silver flame style finial. Condition This antique sterling silver table lighter is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. The cast ornamentation is very sharp and the bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the body and part hallmarks to each detachable component are all very clear.     A fine and impressive pair of antique American cast sterling silver tapersticks; an addition of our ornamental silverware collection. These impressive antique American sterling silver tapersticks have an octofoil panelled form, replicating the details of a Classic English George I style. The plain panelled waisted cylindrical capitals are encircled with protruding scalloped borders to the rims. Each plain waisted column bears a panelled bulbous knop to the upper portion and further scalloped decoration to the lower. The columns surmount octagonal shaped, incurved bases with a sunken well and plain collet style rim. Each candlestick does not have a weighted base. The underside of each base bears the maker's mark 'James Robinson' and 'sterling' standard mark. Condition These antique tapersticks are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The hallmarks struck to the underside of each base are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
