Antique Chinese Export Silver Mug

About the Item

A Chinese silver mug of typical double-skinned construction, decorated with battle scenes against a matt background. It has a vacant cartouche and a dragon handle. Marked with HC, for Hung Chong 鸿昌. Hung Chong was a retailer based in Canton from circa 1850, and later in Shanghai until 1949.
