George III Silver Woodcutter/ Gamekeeper Vinaigrette, Birmingham, 1809

A very rare George III silver Vinaigrette of plain rounded rectangular form, the base and sides with prick-dot engraved decoration, the lid engraved with a scene depicting a Woodcutter or Gamekeeper smoking a pipe with a dog at his heals. The silver gilt interior with intricately pierced grille including a cornucopia of flowers. By Matthew Linwood, Birmingham, 1809 In good condition with no damage or repair Measures: Height 30 mm (1.18 inches) Width 24 mm (0.94 inches) Depth 10 mm (0.39 inches) Weight 15.50 Grams (0.50 troy ounces).
