A German silver bread bowl by Wilkens & Söhne A rectangular with round shape bread bowl in Art-Deco style in hammered pattern. Approx 1920 Germany The Mastering "screw press" has been the master stamp of Martin Heinrich Wilkens & Söhne, silver factory in Bremen since about 1886. The crescent and crown mark is the national mark of Germany, used for German silver from 1886 The measurements are 4,5 cm high, 39,5 cm wide and the depth is 19,5 cm The weight is 372 grams.

    An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver bread dish; an addition to our dining silverware collection. This exceptional antique George V sterling silver dish has a plain oval boat shaped form. The body of this impressive English silver bread dish is embellished with bands of fine and impressive pierced vertical pale decoration, flanking oval floral medallions. The ornamentation to the body incorporates bright cut engraved floral and foliate festoons, suspended from the aforementioned medallion designs. The upper rim of the dish is encompassed with a paralleling applied thread decorated border. The well of this fine example of antique silverware is plain and unembellished. Either end of this antique dish features a cast sterling silver handpiece, ornamented with foliate decoration to a plain rounded terminal.
